Team spirit:
Brady hails team-mates

George Brady has praised his team-mates following their recent upturn in form.

Sunderland under-23s secured their fourth win on the bounce on Monday as they defeated Manchester United at Leigh Sports Village.

Seb Larsson got Andy Welsh’s side on their way to victory as his deflected strike minutes before the break found the back of the net before returning midfielder Jan Kirchhoff rifled home a second on the hour mark.

The result ends the development side’s barren run in the Premier League 2 which had seen them go without a win since September.

Speaking to safc.com, Brady believes the response has been good from this team-mates following their defeat at Arsenal at the end of October.

“We had a chat after the Arsenal game a few weeks back and I think we have turned it around in the last few games," he said. "We are on a good roll because we are scoring goals and keeping clean sheets and that's all we can ask for really.

“We have played two big teams in Manchester United and Benfica in four days and while it has been extremely tough we have come through it. A lot of the boys, including myself, were tired on Sunday because of the schedule but we have come through it really well."

He continued: “We are on a roll and that's what we need to maintain now. We need to continue doing what we are doing because if we do that then we will continue to do well."
