Sunderland midfielder George Honeyman has signed a contract extension which will keep him on Wearside until 2017.
The 21-year-old has been with the Black Cats since the age of 10, progressing through the ranks to make his first-team debut during the 2014-15 season in the FA Cup.
This season Honeyman has enjoyed a spell on loan with National Conference side Gateshead, where he scored one goal in nine appearances, while he was recently named on the bench for Sunderland’s Barclays Premier League win over Manchester United in February.
