Partnership Development Lead

Full Time (40 hours)

Sunderland AFC are looking to a Partnership Development Lead to join our team.

 

Role Purpose:

  • To manage, and develop the Club’s primary partnership agreements, and ensure that each partner receives exceptional service levels. Ensuring that our partners all receive maximum ROI from their bespoke partnership rights that they hold with with the Club utilising the full range of marketing channels we have at our disposal.  
  • To have an understanding of all partnership agreements and manage the fulfilment and facilitation of all rights, plus inventory management and all other contractual elements.
  • Create a partnership deliver plan that integrates all elements of the Club’s wide ranging marketing assets, ensuring a cohesive cross-departmental approach, to ensure a high level of ROI for all partners.
  • To work closely with all key partners, to continue to develop and nurture new and pre-existing relationships in order to maximise the potential of contract renewals and extensions.
  • To implement and support packaging all new digital inventory opportunites that are presented by the new SAFC website and app.
  • Work to develop, and lead, a growing partnership delivery team within Sunderland AFC.
  • To manage the EFL’s commercial partnerships from a Club perspective to ensure that all partners gain their respective rights and benefits under the terms of each of their respective agreements.

 

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • To oversee delivery of exceptional levels of service to all SAFC partners 
  • Be the dedicated point of contact for all club partners and hold regular progress meetings with all partners to assess the progress of existing pre-planned activity and the proactive development of further activity.
  • To manage the structured implementation, and delivery, of personalised half-season, and full-season delivery reports for each partner.
  • To demonstrate ROI for each partner based on their personal business objectives, and utilise available data, and analytic tools, to assist with this process.
  • Implementation of structured Partner Development Programme including agreed touch points, and partner event Programme.
  • Continued development of SAFC’s new Regional Partner Programme with wider team. 
  • To develop uplift opportunities within current partners in relation to new digital inventory availability
  • To develop a broad understanding of the governing body rulings of certain partners and understand their respective restrictions and requirements.
  • To ensure adherence to the commercial rights and inventory requirements of the EFL and their respective commercial partners. Elements include all advertising, ticketing, hospitality, signed merchandise, branding etc.
  • To have an understanding of the commercial terms of each sponsorship contract.
  • To understand and translate all EFL Media Exposure and Valuation reports, with a view to possibly sharing these key findings with the Club Sponsor, other department heads and potential new partners as this is key to proving exact ROI.
  • To have an understanding of the partners’ legal contracts and to be aware of any particular clauses which relate to contract termination, breach of contract etc.  With regard to new commercial contracts, to liaise with legal regarding the collation of all comments and manage this from the beginning stage through to signature stage.
  • To manage all jointly agreed campaigns and partner incentive to produce Management Reports on a monthly basis.
  • Liaise with other Managers across the Club to ensure that the contractual rights and requirements of all partners are met at all times.  These include areas such as digital marketing and awareness campaigns, stadium branding, matchday hospitality requirements, all aspects of matchday and non-matchday advertising, ticketing, player appearances, media, retail, social media, experiential marketing activity and use of all non-matchday facilities etc.
  • Coordinate all partner events across the season with the support of the events team.

The position is full time (40 hours per week), the availability to work flexible is essential to suit business needs. Additionally, you may be required to work all home fixtures and special events unless previously agreed with your manager.
