Jimmy Montgomery

Years at the Club

Sunderland’s all-time record appearance-maker, Jim Montgomery, made his debut in 1960.

He served the club for 17 years in total and was part of the 1973 FA Cup winning side.

In 2015, Monty was awarded the British Empire Medal by the Queen for services to football and he keeps close ties with the club, operating as a leading ambassador while also entertaining fans on matchdays.
