A long-serving member of Sunderland’s academy having been at the club since the age of eight, Ethan’s rise through the ranks has been a memorable one.
Hailing from Houghton-le-spring, Ethan attended St. Roberts School in Washington before joining up with the Black Cats on a full-time basis in the summer of 2013.
A tall and robust midfielder, Ethan usually operates in the centre of the park but can also adapt his game to play on either flank.
With a mature head on his young shoulders, Ethan excelled in Elliott Dickman’s under-18 squad before moving up to the development team.
And it didn’t take long for Ethan to find his feet in the under-23s team and before too long he was given the chance to train with the first-team.
Robson captained the under-23s in their Premier League international Cup final, in front of 18,000 fans at the Stadium of Light.
He made his first-team debut in a Carbao Cup tie against Everton in September 2017, and has since gone on to cement his place in the senior squad.
