Northern Ireland international Conor McLaughlin joined Sunderland on July 1 2019 on a free transfer from Millwall where he had spent the past two seasons.
He came through the academy at Preston North End and made 28 appearances for the club before leaving permanently to join Fleetwood Town in 2012.
McLaughlin earned a promotion from League Two with Fleetwood in 2014 and was a regular starter throughout the next three League One campaigns which saw the Cod Army nearly get promoted.
Those performances earned him a move to Championship Millwall where he has spent the last two seasons.
McLaughlin made his debut for Northern Ireland back in 2011 and has since scored one goal for his country while earning over 35 caps.
His first Sunderland appearance came on the opening day of the 2019-20 season as the Lads drew 1-1 with Oxford United at the Stadium of Light.
