SAFC Women: Esther Morgan joins on loan

Sunderland Women are delighted to announce the loan signing of Esther Morgan from Tottenham Hotspur Women.

The 20-year-old right back joins until the end of the season and will wear the number three shirt.

Morgan shared her excitement at joining the club for the rest of the season.

“I’m really happy. I’m just excited to get started now and get to play football at such a good club."

Head Coach Mel Reay shared her delight at the loan signing.

“We’re delighted to bring Esther in on loan. She’s a young player who’s got a lot of ambition and we hope we can help improve her, and she’s going to add depth to the squad.”

Morgan has had loan spells at Leicester City Women and Coventry United, and has also been a part of Wales’ senior squad on an international level.

Finally, Tottenham manager Rehanne Skinner offered her opinion on the move - a good decision for all parties.

“We are pleased that Esther has a loan opportunity for the remainder of the season with Sunderland. I’m confident that the work Mel and her team do at Sunderland will aid Esther’s development and help her to gain competitive minutes following a long period out last year.”
