Sunderland AFC Women will begin the new Barclays Women’s Championship season with a local derby at Durham Women, following the confirmation of the league’s 2022-23 fixture list.
The Lasses will make the short trip down the A690 to take on Durham at Maiden Castle on the league’s opening day on Sunday 21 August, with a 12pm kick-off.
The following weekend, Sunday 28 August, will see Mel Reay’s side contest their first home fixture at Eppleton CW against Birmingham City, with a provisional 11:30am start.
Three games in each of September and October will be followed by the final league match in 2022 on Sunday 4 December away at Coventry United Ladies, before the Women kick off 2023 with the reverse fixture of the Wear Derby with Durham at Eppleton on Sunday 15 January.
The season is due to finish on Sunday 30 April on home turf against Blackburn Rovers Ladies, with draws for the domestic cups expected in the coming weeks.
2022-23 Eppleton CW Season Cards are now on sale priced at £60 for Adults, £30 for over-65, and £10 for under-16s by clicking here.
