Popular demand: Premier concourse to open this weekend

Due to popular demand, the premier concourse will be open when Sunderland AFC host Portsmouth at the Stadium of Light on Saturday (KO 3pm).

Almost 40,000 tickets have already been snapped up for the seismic Sky Bet League One clash, with both sides gunning for promotion as the season reaches its climax.

The clubs have battled at the top throughout the campaign, but the stakes have never been higher than they are heading into this weekend’s SoL showdown.

Just two points separate the sides in the League One standings, but eyes from both camps will also be looking to Oakwell, as fellow contenders Barnsley take on Blackpool.

SAFC’s executive director, Charlie Methven, said: “Tomorrow is a fantastic opportunity for the SAFC community to come together, with over 40,000 supporters expected to be at the Stadium of Light for a massive game between two grand old clubs.

“We have blown the average attendance record for the third tier out of the water, and to have potentially clocked up two 40,000-plus attendances within one season tells you everything you need to know about our magnificent support.”

Tickets are available from £22 for adults and just £10 for under-16s, but supporters are advised that cash turnstiles will NOT be in operation and they must have a previous purchase history with the club.

To secure your seat, please visit our 24/7 online ticketing service.

Supporters can also purchase tickets from the SoL ticket office on Saturday from 9am to kick-off, but please arrive early as queues are anticipated.
