Starting XI: Styles makes debut as Dodds makes four changes

Callum Styles makes his Sunderland debut as interim Head Coach Mike Dodds makes four changes for today’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Swansea City.

Abdoullah Ba replaces Jack Clarke who has been ruled out due to a knock on his ankle picked up against Birmingham City.

Jenson Seelt returns to the Black Cats’ starting XI following Dan Ballard’s two-match suspension – the defender picked up his 10th yellow card of the campaign last weekend.

Nazariy Rusyn also starts with Romain Mundle and Mason Burstow both dropping to the bench, but the fixture comes too soon for Elliot Embleton.

18-year-old defender Tom Lavery receives his first inclusion in the first-team matchday squad.

Niall Huggins, Dennis Cirkin, Corry Evans, Bradley Dack and Aji Alese all remain sidelined with their longer term injuries.

SAFC XI: Patterson, Hume, O’Nien ©, Seelt, Hjelde, Neil, Ekwah, Ba, Jobe, Styles, Rusyn.

Substitutions: Bishop, Pembele, Lavery, Mundle, Aouchiche, Rigg, Hemir, Burstow, Kelly.
