Loan Watch: Win for Bennette, debut for Young

Catch up on our comprehensive loan watch as our Sunderland stars heavily feature for their respective teams over the last week...

Jay Matete (Oxford United)

The combative midfielder completed his first full 90 minutes for the U’s at the weekend as Oxford continued their march for the League One play-offs.

A goalless draw with Wycombe Wanderers extended their unbeaten run in the league to five games and means they occupy sixth spot in the table.

Jack Diamond (Carlisle United)

The 24-year-old winger featured for just over an hour as the Cumbrian outfit’s fight for survival becomes increasingly more difficult.

In his fourth appearance for the club, they lost by four goals to nil against Bolton Wanderers to ensure they remain bottom of the third tier.

Alex Bass (AFC Wimbledon)

Bass played his 36th competitive game of the season as AFC Wimbledon kept up their chase for the League Two play-offs.

A 1-1 draw against Morecambe means they are now a point outside the top seven with Harrogate Town occupying the final spot. Bass has kept 12 clean sheets in his time at Plough Lane so far.

Nectar Triantis (Hibernian)

The Australian started his fourth game in a row for the Hibees as he continues to his development with valuable first-team experience under Nick Montgomery.

Hibs earned themselves a 2-2 draw against Neil Warnock’s Aberdeen in the Scottish Premier League with Montgomery’s side are now seventh in the table.

Jewison Bennette (Aris FC)

The Costa Rican winger started his second game for Aris Thessaloniki as they earned themselves a valuable win in the Greek Super League.

Beating Atromitos 2-0 in Peristeri, Bennette played his part in the win with 45 minutes as Aris sit fifth in the table.

Matty Young (Darlington)

It was a debut to remember for the 17-year-old shot stopper who was thrust into the starting eleven after completing a one-month loan move on Friday.

With the Quakers in a fight to maintain their National League North status, Young earned a clean sheet as Steve Watson’s side made short work of South Shields winning 4-0.

Zak Johnson (Dundalk FC)

After completing his loan move to the League of Ireland Premier League side last week, Johnson was an unused substitute in their first league game of the season. The game finished as a 1-1 draw with Shamrock Rovers.

Kelechi Chibueze (Consett AFC)

The young goalkeeper continued to gain valuable minutes but was on the receiving end of a 1-0 loss to Belper Town.
