Supporters' Awards: Player of the Season accolades awarded

Sunderland AFC held its annual supporters’ awards ceremony on Monday night at the Stadium of Light, as voted for by official branches of the Sunderland Branch Liaison Council.

Awards were given out for both the men’s and women’s first teams to recognise who the supporters had named the player and young player for the corresponding teams, as well as the SAFC Goal of the Season for 2021-22.

Ross Stewart’s league-high goalscoring record saw the Scotsman named men’s Player of the Season, whilst Dan Neil’s breakthrough campaign earned him the Young Player of the Season award.

SAFC Ladies captain Keira Ramshaw picked up the women’s Player of the Season award following another season leading by example for the Lasses, whilst Neve Herron’s excellent year won her the Young Player of the Year award.

The Goal of the Season accolade was awarded to Elliot Embleton for his sensational strike against Wycombe Wanderers back in August at the Stadium of Light.

We would like to wish huge congratulations to the SAFC and SAFC Ladies players who won their awards!
