Team news: Parkinson gives update ahead of Hull clash

Phil Parkinson has provided an injury update ahead of Saturday’s Carabao Cup clash with Hull City.

Jordan Willis and Josh Scowen were both taken off during Sunderland’s 1-0 win over Harrogate Town last weekend, but in his pre-match press conference, the manager revealed the pair are available for tomorrow's game against the Tigers after recovering from knocks.

The boss also provided an update on Elliot Embleton, who limped off during the Lads' opening pre-season outing against Gateshead.

“Josh is fine, he just took a nasty whack on his foot, but he has trained,” Parkinson said.

“Jordan had a slight groin problem, but he is fine as well.”

He added: “Elliot is back running this week.

"It was a very minor problem and we are expecting him to be back in full training next week."
