Team News: Starting XI to face Swindon Town

Phil Parkinson has shuffled his pack this afternoon at the County Ground as Sunderland take on Swindon Town.

With injuries and suspensions affecting the Lads for the Sky Bet League One return, Conor McLaughlin comes into the starting XI, as well as Charlie Wyke who starts up top.

Denver Hume, originally a doubt due to a jarred knee, is unable to feature in Wiltshire whilst Tom Flanagan serves his one-match ban picked up in our last league outing at Charlton Athletic.

Arbenit Xhemajli and Morgan Feeney are long-term absentees for the Black Cats, whilst Max Power is back in league action and captains the side.

George Dobson is among the substitutes after returning to the fold against Carlisle United from his three-match suspension, and youngsters Jack Diamond and Oliver Younger have also been named in Parkinson’s matchday 18 – taking places on the bench.

Sunderland: Burge, Willis, Wright, O’Nien, McLaughlin, Gooch, Leadbitter, Power ©, Scowen, Maguire, Wyke.

Subs: Matthews (gk), Dobson, O’Brien, Graham, Diamond, Grigg, Younger.
