Match preview: Sunderland vs Harrogate Town

Sunderland round off their pre-season campaign on Saturday against Sky Bet League Two outfit Harrogate Town, (KO 3pm).

The Black Cats have won both of their pre-season friendlies so far, having seen off Gateshead FC and Carlisle United and will be looking to make it three wins in a row at the Stadium of Light.

Phil Parkinson’s forwards have reaped the rewards so far, with Will Grigg, Charlie Wyke and Chris Maguire all finding the target since the return.

Jack Diamond is in contention to face his former teammates after starring on loan last season for the EFL newcomers.

While Aiden O’Brien, Morgan Feeney and Remi Matthews will also be looking to build on their first starts for the club on Tuesday.

Elliot Embleton is expected to return after missing the friendly against Carlisle with a thigh injury.

Following tomorrow’s game, the Black Cats are back in competitive action when Hull City make the trip to Wearside in the Carabao Cup.
