Player of the Month: Robson scoops L2 award

Ethan Robson has scooped the PFA Fans’ League Two Player of the Month award for September.

The Sunderland midfielder, who is currently on loan at Grimsby Town, has enjoyed a terrific start to his time at Mariners Park after sealing a deadline-day switch.

Robson made five appearances in September, bagging three goals in the process to help ensure Michael Jolley’s side sit ninth in the League Two standings.

“I’m really enjoying it, I’ve settled in well,” said the 22-year-old when asked about the start of his loan spell.

“I’m just really hoping to keep improving as a player, and it’ll be great to keep chipping in with goals.”

Robson fended off competition from Plymouth Argyle’s Danny Mayor, Northampton’s Charlie Goode, Cheltenham’s Ryan Broom and Gavin Reilly, and Forest Green Rovers’ Lewis Thomas, notching 34 per cent of the votes.

Well done, Ethan!
