Jordan Willis has admitted his team-mates can’t dwell on Tuesday’s frustrations and be ready to go again this weekend.
Sunderland start their Emirates FA Cup venture this Saturday at the Stadium of Light against fellow League One side Gillingham.
Kicking-off at the earlier time of 1pm, Willis knows a response to the Black Cats’ Leasing.com Trophy defeat on Tuesday evening is essential.
Speaking to safc.com, the 25-year-old outlined what he expects from Steve Evans’ side before talking about the need to get back to winning ways.
“You expect to see hard work, resilience and they are a team who have the quality as well,” he said.
“We have got to make sure we are on our game and come away with the right result.
“Losing on Tuesday was not the greatest of evenings,” he continued.
“We have got to dust ourselves down and be ready to go again so we can get the right result.”
