2019-20: SAFC confirm retained list

Sunderland AFC today confirmed the club’s retained player list for the 2019-20 season.

The list shows those players currently under contract with SAFC, or who have contract offers pending.

When their current deals expire on 30 June 2019, Adam Matthews, Luke Molyneux, Max Stryjek and Robbin Ruiter will leave the club.

Matthews made over 50 appearances for the Black Cats, while Ruiter featured 26 times during a two-year spell at the Stadium of Light.

Molyneux, who made his first-team debut in May 2018, and Stryjek both progressed through the club’s youth system at the Academy of Light.

Under-23 players Max Johnstone, Connor Shields and Alex Storey will also depart this summer.

SAFC would like to wish each of the players leaving the club the very best for the future.
