Sunderland will host Manchester City Under-21s in the quarter-final of this season’s Checkatrade Trophy.
The fixture will take place at the Stadium of Light in the week commencing 21 January.
Jack Ross’ side secured their place in the last eight courtesy of a comfortable 4-0 win over Newcastle United Under-21s, with City coming from 2-0 down in their last 16 tie to defeat Rochdale 4-2.
The exact date and time of the quarter-final tie will be confirmed in the coming days.
