Team news: McGeouch starts v Shrews

Jack Ross has named his starting XI ahead of today’s game with Shrewsbury Town.

The manager has made one change from the side that ran out victorious at Bradford City in the Lads' last league outing.

That change sees Dylan McGeouch come in for the suspended Max Power, who is banned after picking up a red card at Valley Parade.

Lee Cattermole takes the captain’s armband, with George Honeyman on the bench as he continues his return from injury.

Lynden Gooch also returns from injury to be named as a substitute today.

Sunderland: McLaughlin, Matthews, James, Baldwin, Flanagan, Cattermole (c), McGeouch, McGeady, Sinclair, Maguire, Maja.

Subs: Ruiter, Ozturk, Honeyman, Gooch, O’Nien, Mumba, Kimpioka
