The Red and White Army will clock up a mountainous 10,052 miles during the 2018-19 campaign.
Despite a disappointing campaign, the support provided by Sunderland fans last season was constant and throughout the year they turned out in their masses to back the Black Cats.
Here’s hoping their faith will be rewarded, and then some, next term, during which the Lads will travel to nine new stadiums and face five teams they never have before in first-team competition.
The first meetings with Accrington Stanley, AFC Wimbledon, Fleetwood Town, Rochdale and Wycombe will be etched in the history books, and there will also be inaugural competitive visits to Doncaster Rovers’ Keepmoat Stadium, Oxford United’s Kassam Stadium, Scunthorpe United’s Glanford Park, and Shrewsbury Town’s New Meadow.
A trip to Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park marks the longest trip of the campaign, the towering round trip standing at 812 miles.
Visits to Portsmouth (676), Wimbledon (608) and Gillingham (606) will see the Red and White Army travel over 600 miles, with 500-mile round trips to Southend United (588), Charlton Athletic (568), Wycombe (550) and Oxford (518) also on the agenda.
The shortest trip of the season will see the Lads travel 228 miles to Bradford City, with trips to Barnsley (232), Doncaster (236), Accrington (244), Scunthorpe (262), Rochdale (268), Fleetwood Town (282) and Blackpool (294) registering at under 300 miles.
