Sunderland will host Sheffield Wednesday in round one of the 2018-19 Carabao Cup.
The game will take place at the Stadium of Light and is scheduled to take place in the week commencing 13 August.
George Honeyman’s first senior goal sent the Lads on their way last season as they defeated Bury in round one, with Lynden Gooch stepping up to the plate to grab the winner against Carlisle United in round two.
The Black Cats, who reached the final of the competition in 2014, exited last season’s edition in the third round following defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.
