Chris Maguire can’t wait to pull on the famous red and white stripes for the first time.
The versatile midfielder got a feel for his new colours on Monday, as the Lads’ 2018-19 adidas kits were revealed.
Jack Ross’ third summer signing, Maguire hailed the trip to Portugal and explained it was the perfect opportunity to get to know his new team-mates.
But after a tough week in searing heat, the 29-year-old can’t wait to cross the white line and get down to business.
“We had a good training camp and it was a great opportunity for everyone to bond as you’re with each other 24/7,” said Maguire.
“Now it’s down to business and it’ll be nice to be back in the swing and get the games going.”
He continued: “It’s all about getting minutes in the tank.
“You grow with each game and you get better at what you’re used to doing – touch, passing and shooting – and by the end of it everything comes together.
“It was nice to pull on the shirt for the first time and it’s a lovely strip, as soon as you put it on you just want to cross the white line and play.
“I’m told there’s loads of fans coming to the game as well, so I’m really excited.”
