Feet on the ground: Catts looks to Brentford

Lee Cattermole has urged his team-mates to build on Saturday’s rousing comeback at Bristol City as attention turns to a massive week of Sky Bet Championship action.

Within the space of seven days, Chris Coleman’s men will host Brentford before traveling to Bolton Wanderers and entertaining Middlesbrough at the Stadium of Light.

After showing grit, determination and togetherness at Ashton Gate, the Black Cats will enter Saturday’s game against the Bees with momentum and confidence on their side.

But Cattermole admits they can’t let their performance levels dip from their second-half display.

“We need to get that second-half performance repeated as many times as we can between now and the end of the season.

“We need to believe in what we’re doing and trust each other because you can see – and it’s the biggest thing for me – that the fans are waiting to come with us.”

He continued: “You saw it today and as soon as we got one back it was rocking which puts them on the back foot.

“The manager asked for a response and for us to take something from the game which we could build on going into the rest of the season, and we can’t let what we’ve done in the second-half slip from us now.

“We need to make sure we go into next weekend with everyone at 100% and prepare the best way we can, and then put a performance in at home.

“We need to take one game at a time and keep building, and not get too excited because we’ve had 45 minutes here but the first-half was nowhere near where we need to be at.

“Let’s keep our feet on the ground, go again and start clawing our way out of this.”
