Team news: Two changes sees McGeady start

Chris Coleman has made a number of changes to his side for this afternoon’s Sky Bet Championship clash against Brentford.

After coming back from 3-0 down to earn a spirited point away at Bristol City last Saturday, Coleman has decided to start Aiden McGeady while Ovie Ejaria misses out through injury.

The Republic of Ireland international, who is currently the club’s leading scorer with six goals, played an instrumental role in helping the lads fight back at Ashton Gate.

Bryan Oviedo is the second player who misses out as Coleman switches to a back four while Ethan Robson is recalled to the starting XI.

Jonny Williams, meanwhile, features on the Sunderland substitutes bench for the first time since dislocating his shoulder against Millwall in November. Lamine Kone and Callum McManaman also feature on the bench.

Sunderland: Camp, Jones, Clarke-Salter, O’Shea, Browning, Cattermole, Robson, McGeady, Honeyman, Fletcher, Asoro
Subs: Steele, Maja, Williams, McManaman, Gooch, Kone, Matthews
