Jack Ross is hoping to have Aiden McGeady and Lynden Gooch available for Saturday’s game against Bristol Rovers.
The Lads face a quick turnaround at the Stadium of Light following their Emirates FA Cup exit, but Saturday’s Wearside showdown provides the perfect chance to bounce back.
McGeady and Gooch both missed the midweek defeat to Walsall, but the Sunderland boss is confident the duo will return against the Gas.
Meanwhile, Duncan Watmore has also provided an attacking boost, with the forward set to return to league action.
“Hopefully the ones that were absent during the week will through injuries, so Aiden and Lynden, will be okay,” said Ross.
“Certainly Lynden, and I’ll catch up Aiden later today, but I'm hopeful they will all be available for the weekend.”
He added: “Duncan Watmore will be in the squad for Saturday.
“How I use him, we will have to see, but he will be available in the squad this weekend."
