Team news: Wyke and Flanagan making progress, Loovens doubtful

Jack Ross will make a decision on Charlie Wyke and Tom Flanagan in the next 24 hours whether to or not include them in Saturday’s matchday squad.

Wyke, who joined the club in July, is yet to feature in red and white having been injured since arriving from fellow Sky Bet League One club Bradford City.

Flanagan, meanwhile, is yet to make his competitive debut for the club having picked up an injury in training just days before the start of the season against Charlton Athletic.

Speaking at his pre-Oxford United press conference, Ross also provided an update on the injury Glenn Loovens sustained in the first half at AFC Wimbledon last weekend.

“We have got a couple coming back but we have a couple of doubts," he said. "Glenn and Adam are both doubts for Saturday.

“There are a couple others as well because Aiden, Duncan and Jerome remain out.

"We had Charlie and Tom back on the pitch with us today, so they have only really trained with me today and have only just come back into the fold.

“We will take another look at them tomorrow, but we have still got enough within our squad to be able to deal with the challenges on Saturday.”
