Manager's preview: Grayson targets October wins

Simon Grayson is striving to see fortunes reversed on Wearside as Sunderland prepare for a busy month at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats will play three games at home before the month is out, with Bristol City and Bolton Wanderers set to travel to Wearside after Queens Park Rangers visit the SoL on Saturday.

And speaking ahead of the October schedule, the Sunderland boss shared his thoughts on an important month of Sky Bet Championship action.

"We’ve got three home games this month that we need to be positive in them and get victories,” said Grayson.

“We need to give our supporters something to cheer about and there would be no better thing to do than getting off to a good start this month with a win at home to QPR on Saturday.”

He continued: “The supporters will play a very big part in all of this and we need to make sure we are giving them something to cheer about.

“We are all in this together and if we can win on Saturday it becomes a different environment for everybody.

“We are all positive and we all think that we aren’t a million miles away from getting some real good results to get us up the table.

“We are disappointed with the results that haven’t gone our way, but things can change very quickly."
