Team news: Three back in contention

David Moyes will have options to choose from at the KCOM Stadium after a number of players returned to the fold.

Billy Jones, Jason Denayer and Jack Rodwell are fit to face Hull City with Seb Larsson also in contention following a three-match ban, but Steven Pienaar remains a doubt with Lee Cattermole and Darron Gibson ruled out.

Elliot Embleton, who turned 18 last month, was named on the bench last weekend following an impressive first year with the club’s under-23s.

And speaking to safc.com, Moyesadmitted he has a decision to make over who features between now and the end of the season.

“Seb is back this week but we still don’t have Lee Cattermole or Darron Gibson, and Steven Pienaar went over on his ankle yesterday in training so we’ll need to check how that is.

“I expect Billy Jones, Jason Denayer and Jack Rodwell to be back in and around the squad.”

He continued: “This season we’ve blooded Jordan Pickford, Donald Love, Paddy McNair, Lynden Gooch, George Honeyman and Duncan Watmore, and you could go on with the number of youngsters who have been involved.

“I have to try and work that out [playing players who will be here or sticking with the players, some of whom may not be here next year], but first and foremost I want to win the games.”
