Manager's preview: Moyes targets strong finale

David Moyes is relishing Sunderland’s Stadium of Light match-up with Swansea City.

Taking place on Saturday (KO 3pm), the Black Cats are aiming for back-to-back Premier League wins as they continue to build momentum ahead of the 2017-18 Championship season.

Swansea, meanwhile, head to Wearside in search of safety and they know victory at the SoL would heap immense pressure on Hull City, who would have to avoid defeat at Crystal Palace on Sunday to take the battle for survival to the final day.

But the Welsh side will be wary after seeing the Lads best the Tigers – to their advantage – last time out, and Moyes is aiming for another win.

“Swansea have got survival to fight for,” said the Sunderland boss.

“We have to try and play like we did at Hull although they did miss a few good chances and we made some good saves, but when we made chances we took them and I think we’ve created more in the last few games.”

He continued: “We gave the away supporters a good performance and a result last week and I think our performances at home in recent games have merited more than we’ve got.

“I hope we can get them a result because their support has been terrific all year and they’ve turned out in their numbers.

“We are a greatly supported club whether it be home or away and have a great fan base, so we want to end the season well."
