England U20s: Embleton plays in Toulon opener

Elliot Embleton represented England U20s on Monday as they secured a 1-0 victory over Angola.

Ike Ugbo scored the only goal of the encounter at the start of the second period, as the Three Lions began their Toulon Tournament defence with a win.

The Sunderland midfielder completed 90 minutes for the Three Lions who dominated from start to finish and were unlucky not to add to their lead.

Joe Worrall headed wide, Ryan Schofield produced a fine save and Reece James went within a whisker, but it was Ugbo’s cushioned header which made the difference and sealed a deserved win.

England will return to action on Thursday when they take on Cuba, who drew 1-1 with Japan in their opening game.
