Toulon Tournament: Embleton features against Japan

Elliot Embleton helped England under-20s progress to the Toulon Tournament knockout stages with a 100 per cent record.

The Sunderland youngster, who started in wins against Angola and Cuba, came off the bench on Sunday as the Young Lions defeated Japan 2-1 to reach the semi-finals.

Embleton replaced Chelsea’s Tariq Ukwakwe as penalties either side of half-time from George Hurst and Martell Taylor-Crossdale ensured a third win from three games.

The semi-finals will take place on Thursday with England waiting to find out their opponents, as they look to retain their Toulon crown.
