Team news: Maja and Embleton start

Josh Maja will spearhead the Sunderland attack against Hibernian this afternoon (KO 2pm).

The 18-year-old came off the bench against Bury and scored twice as the Black Cats came from 2-0 down to earn a 3-2.

Elliot Embleton also makes his first start of pre-season after helping England under-20s win the Toulon Tournament, and Wahbi Khazri also starts.

Vito Mannone retains his place between the posts as Billy Jones, Donald Love, Papy Djilobodji and Lamine Kone complete the backline.

John O’Shea returns and starts on the bench, as does Didier Ndong, Jeremain Lens and new signing Brendan Galloway.
