Coates returns to action

Seb Coates – Sporting CP 2-1 Feirense

Seb Coates completed 90 minutes as Sporting Lisbon returned from the winter break with a 2-1 win.

Netherlands striker Bas Dost struck twice in the opening 17 minutes to hand Sporting a commanding lead, but the home side were pegged back just after the hour mark as Plantiny found the net.

Feirense rallied late on and Sporting saw Ellias sent off in added time, but they managed to see out the win and claim three points.

Adam Matthews – Bristol City 0-0 Fleetwood Town

Adam Matthews didn’t feature for Bristol City in their Emirates FA Cup tie against Fleetwood Town.

The game ended goalless and Sunderland will face if the winner at home in the fourth round – but only if they overcome Burnley at Turf Moor in a replay next Tuesday.

Matthews did however play a part over the festive period, playing 66 minutes in a defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers before completing the duration against Reading.

Jeremain Lens (winter break)

Jermain Lens and Fenerbahce will return to action on Sunday 15 January.

The Dutchman will be hoping to pick up where he left off having netted in a 3-0 win on Boxing Day.

Will Buckley (shoulder injury)

Will Buckley remains sidelined due to a shoulder injury, meaning he played no part for Sheffield Wednesday over the festive period.
