Team news: McNair & Oviedo ruled out, Ndong update

Chris Coleman has revealed he will be without Paddy McNair and Bryan Oviedo for Saturday’s home match against Fulham.

The Welshman did, however, provide some good news over the fitness of Didier Ndong who has been out since Sunderland’s Tees-Wear match at Middlesbrough in November.

Elsewhere, Lee Cattermole will miss the Sky Bet Championship clash at the Stadium of Light through suspension while Callum McManaman will return after serving his one-match suspension.

“Didier Ndong has trained this week, and looks good,” Coleman said.

“He looks fit, but he’s been out for five weeks with no football. He’s a naturally fit boy though, and he’s trained well.

“Paddy McNair is not available unfortunately. He trained at the start of the week, but he’s still feeling his groin, so he’ll be unavailable.

“Bryan Oviedo will be another week or so, and the same with Billy Jones,” he continued.

“Billy will need some football before he gets back on the pitch with us, but he’s doing well with his rehab and could be ready to join in training with us next week.”
