Carrow Road return: Grabban targets victory

Lewis Grabban is relishing Sunderland’s trip to Norwich City as the Black Cats target a first Sky Bet Championship win of the season.

The 29-year-old spent 18 months at Carrow Road during which time he netted 13 goals in 44 appearances and the Canaries were promoted to the Premier League.

On Sunday Grabban returns to his former stomping ground and after opening his Sunderland account against Derby County, he’s hungry for more.

“It’ll be nice to go there and win regardless of it being Norwich.

“It was important to win on Thursday night even though it was against lower-league opposition, and our attitude was right and we’re pleased to be through to the next round.”

He continued: “The Championship is tough and we have three games in six days coming up, but we’ll recover well and raise ourselves for the next one.

“Our next few games are tough and the teams we’re facing will be looking to finish high in the table, so if we can do well it sends out a nice message to the rest of the league that we’re here to compete.

“A win on Sunday would cap off a nice start to the season.”
