Lee Cattermole is fit to face Norwich City on Sunday after missing Sunderland’s midweek Carabao Cup win.
The midfielder sat out of the 1-0 Victory over Bury at Gigg Lane but he is available for selection at Carrow Road as the Black Cats chase a first league win.
Josh Maja is unlikely to feature, though, and the Sunderland boss also revealed that a number of first-team players will register valuable minutes in Friday’s under-23 clash at Eppleton CW.
“The one who will be missing from the squad will be Josh Maja,” said Grayson.
“We have a few players who will be involved in the under-23s, purely for some game time because they’ll be needed in the next few weeks and it’s the only time we have to get some football into them.”
He added: “Ruiter, Djilobdoji, Oviedo, Love and Rodwell will play [for the under-23s].”
