Injury news: Oviedo out for four weeks

Bryan Oviedo is set to miss the next four weeks of Premier League action, David Moyes has revealed.

The defender suffered a hamstring injury against Manchester United on Sunday, meaning he’s likely to miss the bulk of the final run-in.

Meanwhile, John O’Shea has returned to Wearside and trained with the Black Cats ahead of Saturday’s Stadium of Light showdown with West Ham United.

“We’ve got most of the playters available from what we had last week, but Seb Larsson is suspended and Bryan Oviedo has a hamstring injury, so he won’t be available for the game.

“Bryan looks like it's quite a bad one and it looks like a four-week injury, and we’ll miss him for a good part of the end of the season.”

He continued: “We’ll try and get him an injection to speed up his recovery and get him back a bit quicker.

“John O’Shea is back training; we gave him the weekend off to be with his family so he had a bit of time, but he’s back now and a good professional.

“Steven Pienaar was back in the squad last week.”
