Paddy McNair stole the headlines as Sunderland secured a 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers, but the Northern Ireland international wasn’t the only midfielder who David Moyes was pleased with post-match.
Speaking in the wake of the Black Cats’ win, the Sunderland manager hailed the influence of Didier Ndong who continued his impressive start on Wearside with a standout performance.
Ndong was directly involved in McNair’s winning strike with his cross causing bedlam in the box, and post-match Moyes hailed the Gabon international before casting his eye on Saturday’s Stadium of Light showdown with Crystal Palace.
“Didier was great on the right,” said Moyes. “We played him a bit wider tonight and he did very well.
“[On Saturday] we need to play better than we have been and go into the game with confidence.”
He added: “It feels good to win, so we'll build on that and take it into the game against Crystal Palace.”
