Sunderland boss David Moyes has confirmed that Duncan Watmore is likely to miss the rest of the Black Cats’ season following the results of his scan on Monday.
The 22-year-old was taken off on a stretcher during Sunderland's 2-1 win over Leicester on Saturday, following a collision with Christian Fuchs.
Results from the scans revealed Watmore has suffered a cruciate knee ligament damage, which is likely to rule him out of action for the remainder of the 2016-17 campaign.
Watmore has started 11 games for Moyes' side this season.
