Penalty drama at Molineux late last night saw Sunderland's inaugural Checkatrade Trophy venture come to an end.
In an action packed opening 45, Tom Beadling unleashed a thunderous drive from 30 yards to cancel out Bright Enobakhare's silky smooth finish on 13 minutes.
Both sides continued to trade blows but failed to produce one moment of magic to edge in front and so penalties were required to determine the outcome after 90 minutes.
