The roadrunner is back according to Sam Allardyce with Duncan Watmore set to return following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The fearless frontman took the Barclays Premier League by storm during the opening stages of the campaign, producing a string of fine performances on Wearside which also led to international acclaim with England’s under-21s
.Back in contention for Saturday’s trip to Carrow Road, Watmore burst on the scene back in August netting against Norwich City on his Premier League debut before finding the net against Exeter City and Stoke City.
And after a two-month spell in the treatment room he is pushing for a recall.
“The roadrunner is back,” declared Allardyce. “He’s up and out there, enthusiastic and covering every blade of grass again on the pitch.
“He gives us a very important alternative to what we already have.”
