Sunderland Ladies 12-0 Hartlepool United Women
Sunderland Ladies added to their pre-season tally with a dominant win over Hartlepool United.
Bridget Galloway made it 10 goals in three games with another four goals after Mollie Lambert had opened the hosts’ scoring in the third minute.
Lambert doubled her tally shortly after the half-hour mark, with Georgia Gibson also at the double in an empathic victory at the Academy of Light on Sunday.
Efforts from quartet, Charlotte Potts, Keira Ramshaw, Jess Brown and Maria Farrugia rounded out the scoring.
Sunderland returned to match play for the first time in two weeks, but Melanie Reay's side certainly didn't hang about.
Lambert kick started Sunderland, finishing nicely at close range three minutes in.
Galloway doubled the lead five minutes later, tapping home a rebound.
Gibson, who was missing for the sides last game against Norton, finished well from a cut back as Sunderland pulled away with 20 minutes on the clock.
Defender Potts got in on the act two minutes later. She turned in at the back post from Gibson's corner.
In form Galloway double her tally, heading Brown's cross in as the Back Cats got a third goal in three minutes.
Captain Ramshaw, who also missed the win against Norton, added her name to the scoresheet as she converted after one-two with Galloway on the half-hour mark.
Lambert got her second with the pick of the goal. The midfielder calmly curled a shot into the top corner from the edge of the area with 10 minutes left before the break.
Brown tapped home a rebound to round off Sunderland's first-half scoring in the 42nd minute.
Reay made seven changes at half-time, and it took the Lasses a while to get into their stride.
And it was one of the substitutes who made an impact. Farrugia beat several defenders before tucking the ball into the bottom corner in the 73rd minute.
A minute later, Galloway got her hat-trick, brilliantly taking the ball around the 'keeper before poking home.
With 11 minutes to play, Galloway hammered the ball into the top corner for her fourth and Sunderland's 11th.
Gibson scored the 12th and final goal, her low shot finding the net from long range in the 86th minute.
Sunderland return to action on Thursday, taking on Lee University at the Academy of Light.
