Sunderland AFC Ladies are delighted to announce the signing of RTC Graduates Eve Blakey and Libby Corney.
The pair join on a dual-signing basis, with Blakey linking up with South Shields while Corney features for Wallsend Ladies.
Blakey, a striker, already opened her Sunderland account with a tidy finish in the friendly against Norton & Stockton Ancients last month.
Corney, a defender, is yet to appear in Red and White but has made an appearance for loan club Wallsend.
Both players join after graduating the Sunderland RTC, joining fellow dual-signed graduates Grace Boyes and Rebecca Ward as well as first-team pair Jessica Brown and Neve Herron.
Following her signing, Blakey said: "I’m delighted to have signed with Sunderland, after spending 4 years at the RTC it felt like the next step in my football journey.
"I’m grateful to be able to improve under a team of excellent coaching staff and have the opportunity to learn from the older players who I have looked up to through my years at the RTC.
"I want to develop as much as I can over the course of this season, work hard and grab at any opportunity I have with the senior team. For South Shields I want to use what I have learnt at Sunderland and implement it into my game scoring goals along the way."
Corney added: "I feel really grateful that I am having the opportunity to be able to sign for Sunderland and play with a great group of girls.
"At Sunderland, I want to develop as a player and carry on learning new things and with Wallsend, I am hoping to be able to play as much football as possible to help with my development during the game."
