Sunderland Ladies have bolstered their ranks by bringing in a host of new signings ahead of their FA Women’s Super League (WSL) 1 campaign.
French-American midfielder Zaneta Wyne, 27, who has experience in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, joins from Icelandic side Thor.
Austrian forward Simona Koren, 24, joins from MSV Duisburg in Germany, subject to international clearance, while midfielder Kasia Lipka, also 24, joins from Doncaster Rovers Belles.
All three players have signed one-year deals, as the Lady Black Cats look to capitalise on their impressive fourth-place finish in the WSL Spring series.
Speaking about the signings, manager Melanie Reay said: “It was always an important task for us to add real quality to our side in this window and these signings certainly do that.
“Their profile and ambition match what we have at the club and we’re all really looking forward to seeing them on the field for us.”
Tyler Dodds has also re-joined the club after a spell with Durham, meaning Sunderland have secured six new faces this summer, after the arrivals of Rachael Laws and Ellie Stewart last week.
Sunderland kick-off the season when Chelsea visit their new home of Mariners Park, South Shields, on Saturday 30 September, 6pm kick-off.
South Shields FC season ticket holders can enjoy half-priced entry to the Chelsea game upon production of their South Shields season ticket. Season cards will go on sale this week and can be purchased by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Season ticket prices for the new FA Women’s Super League season have been held for the third consecutive year, priced at £40 for adults and £15 for under 18s and over 65s. A family ticket for one adult & one child is £50 and two adults & two children £95.
