Following the Government announcement on Wednesday regarding ‘Plan B’, new protocols are set to be in place for supporters attending matches at the Stadium of Light.
The new measures are expected to come into effect at the Stadium of Light on Thursday 30 December when Sunderland AFC host Sheffield Wednesday in Sky Bet League One.
Supporters are advised that Saturday’s game against Plymouth Argyle will NOT be subject to new protocols.
However, fans are encouraged to continue following public health guidance and wear a face covering on public transport and in crowded areas to reduce the spread of the virus.
Measures are expected to be in place when SAFC travel to Ipswich Town on Saturday 18 December and Arsenal on Tuesday 21 December.
SAFC remains in dialogue with the EFL and the local authorities and further information will be communicated in due course.
