To mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day, players from Sunderland AFC’s academy have recorded video messages for World War Two veterans.
The young Black Cats offered their praise and thanks to those who gave so much, hailing the heroic sacrifice made to ensure our freedom remains intact today.
As part of the Premier League's #FootballRemembers initiative, academy players from all clubs have taken part in paying tribute to the veterans on this VE Day anniversary.
In previous years, players and club officials have visited the veterans in person, but that has not been possible this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Therefore, our youngsters were asked to record a personal message to the veterans instead.
