Gallery: Spice Girls snaps

Spice Girls quite literally exploded onto stage at the Stadium of Light with fireworks kickstarting the intro of their opening number Spice Up Your Life.

The four-piece proved they’re still a musical force to be reckoned with as they worked through their thumping back catalogue.

After each of the girls attempted a Mackem accent, including a rally cry of ‘Ha’way’ the band signed off with their first-ever number one, ‘Wannabe’ with the 50,000 crowd singing it right back at them.
