Kit Sponsorship: Supergrip get their hands on Molyneux

Local engineering company Supergrip have shown their support to Sunderland AFC and a star of the future in sponsoring Luke Molyneux for the 2018-19 season.

Company director and lifelong Black Cats fan Gordon Conlon has long been an admirer of the young forward, having been a friend of the family for a number of years.

“Luke is the nephew of one of my best mates, Philip Molyneux,” Gordon explained.

“Phil and myself went to the same school and regularly go to matches together, when the opportunity arose to sponsor Luke’s kit I jumped at the chance. “

Molyneux, born in Newton Aycliffe, will be backed by the Aycliffe Business Park based firm for the rest of the campaign.

The company specialise in subsea solutions, with over 15 years’ experience in offering services and products to the oil and gas and renewable industries.

“As a company we try and support local people and good causes when and where we can,” Gordon added.

The Supergrip team were at the Stadium of Light for the Fleetwood Town game as part of the Player Sponsorship package and thoroughly enjoyed their day out.

The occasion was made more memorable as it coincided with Gordon’s father’s 89th birthday.

“It was a great day, I’d highly recommend it to anyone considering sampling matchday hospitality. We also received a signed shirt from Luke, which will take pride of place in our Supergrip boardroom.

“Everyone at Supergrip wish Luke well for the remainder of the season and we will be following his career with great interest.”
