#ForBradley: Bradley Lowery recognised at SPOTY

On Sunday night Bradley Lowery was remembered in a very special way, as he was awarded the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Helen Rollason Award for achievement in the face of adversity.

Bradley truly was a very special little boy who touched the lives of thousands of people, not just at Sunderland AFC, but across the wider footballing and sporting community and beyond.

SAFC chief executive Martin Bain, who attended the SPOTY ceremony with Bradley's family, said:

“To see Bradley’s incredible life and legacy recognised in this way is truly touching and shows the huge impact the remarkable young man had across the world.

“Bradley continues to inspire and help others through his own bravery and the bravery and hard work of Gemma, Carl and his family.

“Sunderland AFC is truly lucky to have a part in his story, which in many ways is only just beginning.”

Through the sale of the limited-edition Bradley’s Shirt we’re aiming to build a lasting legacy for Bradley – a house giving children with life-limiting illnesses the chance to spend time with friends and family.

All money raised from the sale of the special shirts will be donated to the Bradley Lowery Foundation to support the project.

Thank you for all the support given to the campaign so far - it's been overwhelming and very much appreciated.

Help us make a difference. If you haven't already, buy your shirt today. Together we can build Bradley’s Place.
